There are two sides to the Argentine barrio of La Boca. On the one hand La Boca, which is a district on the southeast side of Buenos Aires, is known as one of the poorer and more dangerous areas in the city. However on the other hand there is a tiny sliver of La Boca, know as “El Caminito,” or “The Little Walk-Way,” which is regularly tourist infested.
It’s a world unto itself, accessible only by bus, full of English speakers and federal police. The houses are multicolored, the shops are loaded with Boca Juniors jerseys, and there are men standing by the train tracks waiting to tell you that if you wonder off in the wrong direction you will not be coming back with that nice camera and your wallet.
There are vendors and restaurants, and all in all its an interesting enough touristy site, but not really worth too much of a mention. There are some pictures through the blue link for further viewing.
